Diagnostic Imaging Assistant Role
UPMC Whitfield Hospital in Waterford is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Diagnostic Imaging Assistant to join their Radiology team on the twilight shift.
* The successful candidate will assist radiographers during all diagnostic imaging examinations, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process.
* Responsibilities include escorting patients to MRI suites, verifying labels for specific medical procedures, and collaborating with radiographers to achieve high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities
1. Welcome patients and their guardians to the imaging service with professionalism and courtesy.
2. Determine if patients have any metal objects in their eyes prior to procedures.
3. Verify that patients have signed necessary consent forms.
Requirements and Qualifications
* A Fetac/QQI Level 5 qualification in Health/Social Care is essential.
* Previous experience in a Radiography Department is highly desirable.
* Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills are required for success in this role.
