You will manage a small team (2FTE) and provide leadership in supplier management, strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and procurement process improvement.
You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to drive business value, mitigate risk, and support long-term organisational objectives.
**How you will do it**Strategic Sourcing & Category Management* Develop and implement category strategies aligned with organisational goals.
* Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, including market analysis, tendering, supplier evaluation, and selection.
* Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities, process efficiencies, and value-added initiatives.Supplier Relationship Management* Build and manage strong strategic relationships with critical suppliers.
* Conduct supplier performance reviews, manage KPIs, and ensure alignment with service level agreements.
* Lead supplier risk assessments and drive mitigation plans.Contracting & Negotiation* Lead complex contract negotiations focusing on pricing, service levels, risk, and long-term value.
* Collaborate with Legal to ensure contract compliance and alignment with organisational policies.
* Oversee contract lifecycle management, ensuring timely renewals and performance monitoring.Governance & Compliance* Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, financial controls, and regulatory requirements.
* Maintain accurate procurement documentation and reporting for audit readiness.
* Champion ethical procurement practices, sustainability goals, and diversity initiatives.Stakeholder Engagement* Partner with functional leaders to understand business needs and develop proactive sourcing strategies.
* Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on market trends, risks, and opportunities.
* Support budgeting and forecasting activities related to procurement.Process & Performance Improvement* Identify opportunities to improve procurement systems, processes, and tools.
* Support digital procurement transformation initiatives and adoption of supplier management technologies.
* Develop procurement dashboards, reporting, and analytics to track performance and drive decision-making.
**What we look for**Essential* Proven experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, ideally from the manufacturing industry and in a leadership or category management role.
* Strong negotiation skills and experience managing large, complex supplier contracts.
* In-depth understanding of procurement best practices, market analysis, and cost modelling.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.Preferred* Experience with ERP/procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba).
* Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, ISM).
* Experience in a regulated or complex operational environment.
