This role ensures that change management strategies, stakeholder communications, and clinical risk considerations are embedded throughout the EHR implementation lifecycle. You will have strong credibility across your programme area and oversee the work and risk-management within your allocated workstreams. You will be responsible for problem-solving and making all necessary operating decisions within your remit by driving collaboration and the building of consensus with the business. You will participate as a key member and influencer in the EHR programme senior management team. You must be able to plan, communicate, co-ordinate and network effectively. You must also be highly organised and able to apply risk assessment alongside digital transformation management principles and processes. You will participate in the development and communication of the vision, strategy, and objectives for the EHR program, ensuring optimal user transition to the future digital estate within the available capabilities and stakeholder buy-in. You will serve as a key point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates and reports on your program status and progress.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:ResponsibilitiesGeneral AccountabilitiesYou will have operational responsibility for planning and delivering the requisite change and Clinical Risk assurance for the new EHR into UPMC Ireland. You will implement the change and Clinical Risk programme within the project scope and governance, including identification of stakeholders. You will establish your project team and allocate responsibilities.For the programme, you will be responsible for your programme plan component, milestone tracking and reporting status/issues, risks and benefits. You will lead the decision-making process towards the resolution of issues impacting milestone achievements.Specific AccountabilitiesProject Planning and managementWith the Programme Lead:Develop an overall project plan for change management and clinical risk assurance (including schedules, scope, and desired outcomes) for approval by the Programme SMT and associated senior governance fora.Design new governance structures or adjust current governance structures to enable effective change management and clinical risk assurance;Manage, report, and escalate issues and risks as appropriate to the Programme SMT and vendorsDevelop lessons learned at the end of each phase and at the end of the project.Change Management & AdoptionLead the development and execution of change management strategies to support clinical and operational adoption of the EHR across all UPMC Ireland sites.With the support of key UPMC Executives, to lead the adjustment or development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to support the target operating model of the business and ensure seamless integration of the EHR into daily practice.Drive user engagement and readiness through structured change initiatives, including stakeholder analysis, change impact assessments, and resistance management, and tailor engagement strategies accordingly.Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to ensure alignment of change activities with organizational goals, workflows and culture.Define and oversee the execution of training strategies in collaboration with the EHR Programme Training Lead, ensuring content is role-specific, accessible, and aligned with user needs.Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure change adoption, user engagement, and training effectiveness.Ensure effective knowledge transfer to business-as-usual (BAU) teams, including the development of support materials, user guides, and post-go live support plans.Foster a culture of change resilience and digital literacy through ongoing communication, recognition of early adoptersCommunications ManagementWorking with the UPMC Ireland Communications Team, develop and implement a comprehensive communication plan to inform and engage stakeholders at all levels.Ensure timely, transparent, and consistent messaging across all phases of the EHR program.Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external communications related to the EHR stream.Clinical Risk LeadershipChampion Clinical Risk throughout the EHR deployment by integrating safety principles into system design, testing, training, and go-live support.Collaborate with existing clinical governance and quality teams to identify and mitigate risks to Clinical Risk.Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements related to clinical safety and digital health.Qualifications & Experience:Candidates should have a proven track record of digital transformation change management in complex business environmentsCandidates should have an undergraduate degree and considerable digital healthcare deployment experienceCandidates should be familiar with the structures, processes, and practices relating to clinical risk assurance for digital healthcare e.g. DCB 0129 & DCB 0160 from the NHS.Preferred QualificationsCandidates should have a project management designation (PMP, Prince2, graduate certificate in project management or equivalent experience).Candidates with experience leading deployment of HIS/CIS systems (preferably MEDITECH, but not excluding EPIC, Oracle Health et al.)Background in digital healthcare deploymentEqual Opportunity Statement and BenefitsUPMC is an equal opportunity employer.
