Job Description Summary As a Materials Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring optimal material performance across our operations.Apply below after reading through all the details and supporting information regarding this job opportunity.Acting as a technical expert and key collaborator, you will support the resolution of material-related issues, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to the successful introduction of new materials and specifications.This role offers excellent exposure across Operations, Engineering, Quality, and external suppliers in a highly collaborative, technical environment.Job Description Responsibilities Act as the technical liaison between Materials Vendors, Operations, Engineering, Quality Assurance (QA), and Supplier Quality teams Provide expert technical support on material-related issues across QC, Operations, and Engineering Actively respond to and troubleshoot material performance issues identified by Operations, Engineering, or QC Lead and follow through on corrective and preventive actions where material performance is identified as the root cause Proactively support the introduction, validation, and qualification of new materials and specifications Propose improvements to existing material specifications with a focus on continuous improvement and cost reduction Analyse material performance and prepare quantitative studies to support data-driven decision-making Serve as a key link between Technology Development, Operations, Engineering, and material suppliers Support site-wide continuous improvement initiatives Act as the QC materials representative on cross-functional investigations Qualifications Degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline or equivalent Key Skills & Competencies Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a data-driven approach Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally Technical writing skills, including the preparation of reports and investigation documentation Experience with SAP and Track Wise (or similar quality systems) is an advantage Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment Collaborative mindset with the confidence to engage internal and external stakeholders Inclusion and Diversity GE Health Care is an Equal Opportunity Employer where inclusion matters.Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, protected veteran status or other characteristics protected by law.Behaviors We expect all employees to live and breathe our behaviors: to act with humility and build trust; lead with transparency; deliver with focus, and drive ownership
