Sales Executive - Life Sciences

THE COMPANY:
Our client is a well-established, multi-million-euro market leader supplying laboratory equipment, consumables and solutions into the life sciences sector in Ireland. They have built a strong reputation with universities, R&D organisations and commercial laboratories, backed by excellent training, low staff turnover and a highly supportive culture. Due to continued growth, they are now expanding their Irish sales team and are looking to hire an additional Sales Executive focused on the life sciences market.
THE ROLE:
This is a field sales role selling a broad portfolio of laboratory equipment and consumables into life science end-user laboratories across Ireland, with the majority of activity based in Dublin. You will work with molecular biology labs, research institutes, universities and R&D teams, selling to lab managers, principal investigators, researchers, technicians and procurement. The role is a mix of account management and new business development, building long-term relationships while identifying new opportunities within existing and new accounts. Full product and commercial training is provided, and this role is designed to suit someone moving from the lab into a commercial career.
THE PERSON:
This role is ideally suited to someone with a strong life sciences background who is now looking to transition into sales. You will come from a molecular biology or related scientific discipline, with hands-on laboratory experience. Candidates with experience in academic, research or commercial labs are all of interest. Previous sales experience is not essential, as full sales training is provided, but you must be comfortable communicating with customers and keen to develop a long-term commercial career. Experience with techniques such as PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction, cell culture, ELISA, antibodies, protein analysis or general molecular biology workflows would be highly relevant.
THE PACKAGE:
Base Salary: €40,000 - €50,000
Bonus: €10,000

LOCATION:
Ideally Dublin-based due to account concentration, but open to candidates elsewhere in Ireland for the right profile.
