Career Vision Recruiters are currently seeking to recruit a Sous Chef for a well‑established 4* Hotel in Co. Kildare.
Responsibilities
* Leads kitchen team in Head Chef's absence.
* Provides guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, but not limited to line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
* Ensures a first‑in, first‑out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance.
* Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours.
* Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimising waste, and works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns.
* Works with Head Chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities.
* Assists Head Chef with menu creation and new dishes.
* Ensures and controls levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating and food cost on an ongoing basis.
* Monitors and ensures that the production, preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times.
* Has a good knowledge of health & safety, hygiene, HACCP and any other legislation.
* Is able to handle pressure calmly and professionally.
* Has a friendly, outgoing personality along with excellent personal presentation.
* Is passionate about producing high quality food.
