The Role:
We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of our start-up medical device client based in Galway.
This position offers an opportunity for an Engineer to advance their career in a positive, dynamic, and inclusive work environment. You will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations and process improvements in developing innovative catheter-based technology medical devices.
Responsibilities:
* Development of new methods of device manufacture
* Rapidly prototype product and fixture concepts in-house - using standard catheter building equipment and techniques such as 3D printing.
* Modelling and analysis of mechanical systems using SolidWorks or similar software
* Work with medical device polymers within a catheter manufacturing environment
* Conceive, develop and improve manufacturing processes for proof-of-concept, verification and validation testing
* Design, build and document novel neurovascular catheter-based technology
* Support and manage efforts to verify and validate new product designs
* Identify and interact with vendors to obtain engineering materials, processes, and equipment
Qualifications:
* Holds an NFQ Level 8 qualification in a Technical Discipline (such as Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or Biomedical) with at least two years of relevant industry experience.
* Exhibit a motivated, hands-on, and adaptable work ethic combined with a results-driven mindset. Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational abilities.
* Capable of managing complex technical projects within strict deadlines utilizing appropriate Project Management methodologies and tools (such as PMBOK).
* A proactive and influential team member who actively fosters and leads a cross-functional teamwork environment while providing technical guidance and mentorship to technicians.
* Experience in Problem Solving, Process Improvement, Data Analysis, and Project Management is highly desirable.
