Nurse Specialist in Hepatology
Band 6
Full Time 37 hours
With effect from 01 April ****, NHS Scotland is reducing its full time working week from 37 to 36 hours per week, there will be no change in full time pay.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nurse to join the Hepatology Nursing Team within NHS Tayside.
You will be responsible for the assessment and care of patients with Liver Disease and will run Nurse led clinics and also provide inpatient support.
You will act as a source of highly developed specialist expertise, and provide education and advice to patients, carers, and other healthcare professionals.
You will work alongside other clinical colleagues within this specialty to provide expert high quality care and clinical treatment.
You will participate in audit and research projects related to patients with Liver Disease.
You will also be responsible for the development of teaching sessions and educational materials.
You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
You should also be able to demonstrate an ability to learn, be able to use your initiative and have a flexible approach to work.
Evidence of continuing professional development is essential.
The applicant would be supported to undertake the Nurse Prescribing and Clinical Assessment Module once fully established into the service and at an appropriate level.
Applicants should be educated to degree level and be registered on Sub Part 1 of the UK NMC Register, entry code RN1/RNA and demonstrate evidence of a high level of clinical expertise.
Extensive post registration knowledge and clinical experience in a range of specialities is essential.
