Retail Ireland Skillnet is seeking an Apprentice Support Officer for the Apprenticeship in Retail Supervision programme, primarily for our Cork cohort, with support for other regions if necessary.
The successful candidate will be based in the Letterkenny Office and will need to travel to Cork 3-4 times per month during classroom days. The role also involves overseeing communications and marketing activities. It is a full-time fixed-term contract, five days per week. Applications close on 23rd June 2025.
About The Role
* Primary contact for Cork apprentices.
* Support apprentices with assessments, workplace learning, online tools, and general programme issues.
* Monitor attendance, task completion, and assessments.
* Review apprentice logbooks and provide feedback.
* Communicate with workplace mentors regarding progress.
* Assist with apprentice inductions and mentor training.
* Gather feedback from apprentices, tutors, and employers.
* Attend classroom days and engage with tutors.
* Update records in the student information system.
* Provide E-Mentor support during online classes.
* Coordinate with Authorised Officers on registrations and progress.
* Share feedback with the Apprenticeship Team.
* Identify improvements to the programme.
* Promote the programme to employers via visits and online meetings.
* Manage social media posts and communications.
* Perform administrative duties and manage apprentice transitions.
* Ensure documentation accuracy and data security.
* Contribute to event planning and promotional activities.
* Assist with content creation for digital platforms and manage WordPress website updates.
* Perform other relevant tasks as needed.
This role and responsibilities may change based on business needs.
Qualifications
* Level 7 qualification or higher (desirable).
* Alternatively, at least 5 years of retail/hospitality experience with marketing and communications skills.
Knowledge Base
* Understanding of delivering service excellence.
* Knowledge of ICT and web technology.
* Familiarity with Ibec and its services.
* Experience in retail or hospitality sectors.
* Knowledge of Irish Apprenticeship programmes.
* Experience with e-learning tools.
