Job Title: Grade IV Support Officer
This role is a temporary position in a hospital setting, reporting to the Operations Lead.
About the Role:
The support officer will provide administrative support for patient registration and documentation. Key responsibilities include collecting demographic data, producing patient documents, and ensuring timely and professional patient flow.
Main Responsibilities:
* Theatre administration and coordination
* Patient registration and financial assessment on electronic systems
* Registration and arrival of patients attending various services, including elective admissions and procedures
* Accurate collection and entry of patients' biographical data
* Validation of insurance details and medical information
* Maintenance of patient records with minimal duplication
Additional Tasks:
* Providing cover within the administrative team
* Handling patient queries and resolving issues as necessary
* Directing telephone enquiries to relevant departments
* Performing tasks such as ordering supplies and maintaining records
* Communicating with line management about issues and organizing meetings
Requirements:
* Experience as an administrative officer or equivalent in a healthcare setting
* Completion of a relevant qualification or examination at a comparable standard
* A high standard of suitability for the proper discharge of the role
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team to ensure seamless patient care.
