In short, We Enable Possibility℠.Job Summary: Join our growing European Mortgage team and play a key role in pricing, underwriting and delivering high impact risk transfer solutions (predominately Significant Risk Transfer, SRT) for leading European Banks in respect of mortgages and other loans. This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic decisions and shape the future of mortgage risk management across Europe. The team in Ireland is expanding quickly in line with the growing mortgage insurance segment. The successful candidate will work with a team of c.10 experienced mid-level and senior actuaries and insurance professionals. This role offers exposure to a rapidly growing industry, demanding cross-functional collaboration with opportunities for progression into leadership positions. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for a broad range of actuarial activities including:Pricing new transactionsUnderwriting new transactionsPortfolio reporting (in-force portfolio)Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities1. Produce high-quality underwriting memos that inform executive decision-making:Estimate probability of default (frequency) and loss given default (severity) in respect of loan portfolios for use in internal pricing models.Understand the tranching / structuring of transactions and ensure they are reflected in internal pricing models.Review and document the characteristics (composition analysis) of loan portfolios on potential transactions.2. Develop pricing strategies that optimize risk-adjusted returns and support sustainable growth in the European mortgage / SRT portfolio.3. Act as a subject matter expert on European banking and SRT market trends, providing thought leadership to internal teams4. Develop expertise in regulatory, rating agency and economic capital frameworks to guide pricing decisions.5. Perform quarterly portfolio analysis and deliver strategic insights to senior stakeholders, influencing pricing and capital allocation decisions.Knowledge & Skills:1. Nearly / recently qualified actuary with 5+ years industry experience2. Ideally prior experience in a related field. Including:Credit risk / insuranceActuarial pricingGeneral insuranceBankingEuropean / US mortgage markets3. Strong communication skills. Ability to synthesize and clearly present complex findings to stakeholders.4. Proficiency in advanced Excel, PowerPoint and general actuarial modeling methods.5. Data analytics / programming skills, not essential though would be considered advantageous.6.
