Job Summary:
The Associate Director, Multicultural Student Services supports the overall function and mission of Multicultural Student Services, engaging students from underrepresented populations in alignment with the Bucknell University mission, as well as serving the entire Bucknell student community. The Associate Director leads innovative efforts to provide an integrated approach to identifying, developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and practices directed toward improving the overall student experience including, but not limited to: outreach and yield, transition to college, academic success, leadership and professional development, inclusion and retention, and enrichment of the overall student experience.

* Reports to the Director, Multicultural Student Services.
Work Setting/Work Schedule:
* This is an on campus student facing position.
* This is a full-time, staff exempt, 40 hour per week role.
What You Will Do:
* Provide responsible leadership, organization and assessment of the Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM) mentoring program & its Pre-Orientation component (RAMP Up), to include budgetary and programmatic initiatives.
* Lead and support a portfolio of large-scale programs that celebrate the student experience, including (but not limited to) welcome events, Feria, Latina, LACOS Gala, Latinx Heritage Month, and other special events.
* Support and provide guidance to the Director in addition to managing operations in the absence of the Director.
* Develop and execute leadership and organizational development opportunities for Bucknell's underrepresented student organizations and communities.
* Collaborate and build relationships with campus partners.
* Serve as a liaison to student organizations and a professional advisor for cultural programming in alignment with the vision of the Division of Student Affairs.
* Coordinate, plan and implement a comprehensive calendar of social, cultural and educational events and programs.
* Serve on various divisional and institutional committees; lead training and learning sessions; attend departmental, and divisional staff meetings, and other meetings as required.

What You Will Bring:
Required:
* Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs or related field.
* Four (4) or more years of full-time or equivalent experience working with underrepresented populations in a college/university setting.
* Experience advising students, individually and as members of student organizations, with an emphasis on identity and leadership development.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite as well as ability/willingness to learn programs such as InDesign, Adobe, Photoshop, and Google platforms.
* Strong intercultural competence and interpersonal communication skills.
* Awareness of differences in background, identity, and life experiences, including factors such as economic circumstances, culture, physical or learning abilities, nationality, underrepresented populations, religion, and how these may influence individuals' opportunities and perspectives.
* Demonstrated experience managing student staff and complex projects.
Preferred, But Not Required:
* Fluent in English, Spanish and/or Portuguese with strong verbal and written communication skills in respective languages.
* Demonstrated commitment to career growth in higher education.
* Marketing and communication skills especially with regard to use of technology and social media.
* Experience managing events, including assessment and evaluation of effectiveness.
Physical Requirements:
* Able to move equipment and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
* Able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time; sit or stand at a computer and use a mouse/keyboard for long periods of time.
* Able to move about the office to access file cabinets and office equipment such as phones, copiers and printers.
* Able to work in an environment with a moderate level of interruptions.

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
