An exciting opportunity exists for a Surgical and Perioperative Services Manager to take on a key leadership role within our team.
Your strong clinical expertise, excellent leadership capability and positive, solution‑focused approach will be critical to your success. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of safe, high‑quality, efficient and patient‑centred care.
Responsibilities
Oversight of workforce planning, rostering and skill mix to support safe and efficient service delivery
Demonstrated understanding of legislative requirements, ACORN Standards and Sterilisation standards
Leadership of accreditation processes and clinical Quality and Risk management activities
Ensuring workplace health and safety policies, procedures and legislative obligations are met
Budget management, cost control and achievement of budgetary targets and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Building strong, collaborative relationships with VMOs, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary teams
Northpark Private is a 132‑bed hospital located in the rapidly developing Northern Corridor of Melbourne and is operated by Healthscope, a leading provider of private healthcare in Australia. We specialise in Mental Health Services including general psychiatry, older persons and early parenting support as well as Obstetrics and surgical services. La Trobe Private Hospital, located 3.5 kms away from Northpark, is a newly redeveloped hospital with 4 operating theatres, day surgery, inpatient unit and consulting suites. Two hospitals with one vision.
Essential Criteria
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
Postgraduate qualifications in perioperative nursing
Significant senior leadership experience within perioperative services in an acute healthcare setting
Demonstrated experience in theatre operations, workforce management and budget accountability
Strong knowledge of perioperative standards, including ACORN and relevant sterilisation standards
Experience leading accreditation, quality improvement and risk management activities
Well‑developed communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
Commitment to workplace health and safety and Healthscope Safe Values
