Job Description
The Lead Cost and Inventory Accountant plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy of product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
Main Responsibilities
1. Maintain and update standard costs; lead the annual cost refresh.
2. Analyse manufacturing variances (PPV, absorption, freight, scrap, etc.) and provide cost insights for pricing and new product decisions.
3. Complete monthly inventory close activities, journal entries, and reconciliations.
4. Collaborate with Operations to strengthen inventory processes and controls.
5. Monitor inventory levels, manage cycle counts, and assess aged/obsolete stock.
Key Requirements
* 5+ years in cost accounting or financial analysis, ideally in manufacturing.
* Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management.
* ERP experience required; SAP preferred.
* Experience supporting internal/external audits.
Preferred Skills
* Advanced Excel.
* Power BI experience.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
