Job Description:

1. Oversee the daily running and function of Choice Childcare to ensure a safe, supporting, and educational environment for all the children.
2. Leading and developing a team of early Childhood educators to provide a quality and nurturing setting for all staff, families and children.
3. Maintaining compliance with all relevant organisations, regulations, frameworks (Aistear) and standards (Siolta).

Key skills:

4. Time Management: setting good examples, meeting deadlines and tasks. Managing time and routine effectively.
5. Delegation: dividing tasks amongst staff and assigning roles and responsibilities.
6. Problem -solving resolving issues efficiently, and co-operation and good relationships with parents.
7. Organisation: Ensures that the company is operated smoothly.
8. Attention: ensuring that all children, staff and family are felt assisted, supported and listened too, can trust and develop healthy relationships in the setting.

Roles and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

9. Planning,organisation and decision making: Developing schedules, routines, paperwork and resources to ensure the effective day to day running of the setting.
10. Directing and Leading:provide guidance and making important decisions daily and supporting the team.
11. Team management: providing a positive, encouraging and opportunistic environment for staff.
12. Communication:to ensure effective communication methods to all staff, children and families.
13. Conflict resolution:resolving issues and conflicts within the setting that can occur and providing a positive working atmosphere.
14. Administrative work:Ensuring all relevant paperwork is up to date, giving staff necessary paperwork to meet the standards.

Knowledge of HIVE system, returns, Ncs chick and reflecting on these weekly.

Weekly rosters ensuring all rooms are covered and staff to child ratio is maintained.

Salary and staff hours/roster and dealing with the accountant weekly.

The successful candidate must have

Ideal candidate would have a minimum level 8 qualification.

5 years experience in Early Years or 2 years experience in a leadership role.

Choice Childcare ,Main Street,Newcastle, Co. Dublin.

Qualification Level

Minimum QQI/Fetac Level 8
