As part of our expansion, we are currently looking for a suitably motivated - Photonics Packaging & Integration Engineer - to join our group.What you'll doSupport R&D and process development activities for photonics packaging, electronic packaging, assembly, integration and testSupport photonics package process development for both prototype development and scaling to manufacturePropose and develop innovative design solutions (design for excellence (DFX)) to meet photonic integrated circuit product or market requirementsSupport CAD of package optical, opto-mechanical, and interposers design and toolingSupport thermal design of photonics systems designProcurement selection, and qualification of photonic and electrical components and suppliersDirect and/or conduct experiments as needed to support design effortsCreate acceptance test procedures and support process automation developmentQuality control and yield analysis to provide feedback for design optimisationTrain design and assembly team members on design principles and practices for packaging and integration, create standard operating procedures, create assembly and process instructionsProject management and coordination with clients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project requirements and delivery schedules are metProject planning and progress documentationContribute to contract tender and research proposals documentation for new projectsSupport qualification and test of components for the space environment.Preparing documentation according to Mbryonics' quality assurance processesWho you areA Bachelor's, Master's degree or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.Proven experience in photonics packaging and integration, ideally within a research, development, or manufacturing environment.Experience in optical fibre and micro optics packaging techniquesFamiliarity with electronic packaging techniques e.g. wirebonding and flip-chip bondingHands-on experience with assembly, integration, and testing of photonic systems.A strong aptitude for problem-solving and a track record of proposing innovative solutions.Experience with component selection, qualification processes, and supplier management is desirable.Knowledge of quality control methodologies and yield analysis techniques is desirableExcellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.Strong organizational and project management abilities.Experience with documentation and technical report writing.Familiarity with environmental testing standards, particularly for space applications, would be an advantage.What's in it for youCareer Growth: Contribute to a world-class space-age communication program while developing your leadership skills in a state-of-the-art manufacturing environmentCollaboration: Work with talented professionals across disciplines to drive impactful solutionsInnovation: Be part of a team pioneering advancements in manufacturing engineering for cutting-edge FSO systemsWork-Life Balance: Enjoy flexible work schedules and a comprehensive benefits packageIf you're ready to take your career to new heights and drive the future of space-age communication, apply now and join the MBRYONICS team as our Photonics Packaging & Integration Engineer.Diversity, Inclusion and Equal OpportunitiesCore ethical values, diversity and inclusion are invaluable to MBRYONICS' business success.
