A leading medical device manufacturer in Longford is seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join its high-performance engineering team.
This hands‑on role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimising advanced automation systems to ensure maximum reliability and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot automation, robotics, and PLC‑controlled equipment
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to reduce downtime
Support commissioning and integration of new systems, including programming adjustments
Collaborate with engineering, production, and external vendors
Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, ISO 14001, and internal quality standards
Accurately document maintenance activities and contribute to continuous improvement
Requirements:
2+ years' experience with automated manufacturing equipment (medical devices or injection moulding preferred)
Strong PLC experience (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.), plus robotics, sensors, and vision systems knowledge
Ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics and troubleshoot complex systems
Familiarity with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office
Strong problem‑solving skills, safety‑focused, and willing to work a 4‑cycle shift
