Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Director to oversee their commercial activities in Ireland.
Purpose of the Role
A commercially focussed leader will execute business strategies, delivering turnover, profit, and financial targets for the entire island of Ireland. The role involves leading a team of managers across commercial functions.
The Role:
* Assist the Managing Director in developing a comprehensive Divisional business strategy aligned with the company's strategic direction.
* Utilise business tools such as CRM and Power BI to ensure commercial targets are understood by all team members and performance against these targets is regularly assessed.
* Develop a specification-based sales approach enabling the commercial team to provide clarity of specification to customers, which can easily be translated into accurate scopes of work for pricing and production planning.
* Ensure stretching targets for products are achieved consistently across all depots and product categories.
* Secure preferential terms for the commercial team and ensure a smooth transition of information from Commercial to Operations.
* Coach, lead, develop, and motivate the team to maximise performance and order values.
* Provide clear direction to Marketing and Business Development functions to ensure their efforts align with the strategic and commercial direction of the company.
* Monitor overall performance excellence using appropriate KPIs and identify areas requiring increased support and guidance.
* Ensure Health & Safety receives the required profile across the Commercial department and that all colleagues understand their responsibilities and obligations.
* Contribute to and prepare annual budget and financial plans.
* Adhere to governance requirements related to orders and opportunities.
* Minimise and mitigate risks through consistent implementation and improvement of agreed risk management procedures.
* Provide Finance and Operations with accurate demand and termination forecasts to facilitate accurate forecasting of contribution and factory spend.
* Protect budgeted margins by ensuring all projects are fully costed based on detailed specifications agreed with customers and communicated effectively to Operations.
* Analyse contract margins to recover costs associated with refurbishment, fitting out, and installation of Company products/services and drive initiatives for continued improvement.
* Drive efficiency by implementing best practice and striving to maximise suppliers' capabilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Commercial experience within a similar industry.
* Leadership skills, including coaching, developing, and motivating teams.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Familiarity with business tools such as CRM and Power BI.
