Medical Scientist Role Summary
A highly skilled Medical Scientist is required to lead laboratory scientific work in a dynamic Haematology/Blood Transfusion department.
The successful candidate will foster a collaborative and empowering work environment, working under the leadership of a supportive Chief Medical Scientist and laboratory manager.
* Perform routine laboratory scientific work to the highest standard in accordance with Department policies, procedures, and guidelines.
* Receive training and maintain competence in all relevant areas of the laboratory services.
* Support colleagues and work collaboratively with team members.
* Participate in service development and improvement initiatives.
* Assist in ensuring compliance with international and national guidelines and standards for service provision.
* Participate in evaluating equipment, reagents, and consumables.
* Adhere to laboratory standard operating procedures, policies, and guidelines.
Key Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Medical Science or equivalent qualification.
* Current registration with CORU or eligibility for registration.
* Knowledge and experience of working in an ISO 15189 accredited Medical Laboratory.
* Experience using a Laboratory Information Management System.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Remuneration: €45,000 - €60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
