Clinical Skills Facilitator Full-time (37.5 hours per week) | Permanent | Candidate Criteria: Qualifications Registered General Nurse with Nursing Midwifery Board Ireland (NMBI) Possess the relevant academic qualification at no less than BSc in Nursing. Educated to master's level or above (Desirable) Experience Have at least 5 years of post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting. Have experience as working in the role of preceptor. Management experience. Evidence of Continuous Professional Development. Research and Audit experience (Desirable). Policy development experience (Desirable). The Purpose of This Role: The role of the Clinical Skills Facilitator is to provide clinical support to qualified nurse and to support them in developing their clinical skills and competencies in order to fulfil their roles and responsibilities in an ever-changing health service. The post holder will be an excellent resource to their professional colleagues and lead and support nursing development initiatives that aim to ensure the highest standards of patient acre throughout the hospital. Key Responsibilities: To enhance outcomes for patients by assessment of standards of nursing, and healthcare assistant practice; the planning and implementation of appropriate education and professional development and the ongoing audit and evaluation of standards and patient outcomes. To provide quality educational and supportive service to nursing staff and healthcare assistants To co-ordinate and manage and deliver up to date educational/clinical programmes for relevant staff. To support clinical audit of practice within the hospital and supported by the Nurse Practice Development Co-Ordinator. Educating and orienting staff, including new hires, to clinical practices and procedures. Identifying educational needs within the clinical area and developing training programs. Maintaining records of ongoing education and training activities. Promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Acting as a preceptor, mentor, and coach to nursing staff. Supporting nurses in identifying their professional goals and facilitating their achievement. Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and coordinated patient care. Monitoring and evaluating clinical practice standards and promoting evidence-based practice.
