Your New Company Your new company is a leading Electrical and Instrumentation contractor with projects in Ireland. They are now looking to recruit an Electrical Tester on a contract basis for a project in Dublin. Your New Role
1. Responsible for inspecting and testing electrical systems and equipment and ensuring they comply with specifications, electrical wiring regulations and standards.
2. Keeping records, compiling inspection and test reports for issue to the site management team.
3. Reviewing and compiling test documents from specialist suppliers and subcontractors for inclusion in O&M and BCAR handover documentation.
4. Advising on non-compliant installations.
5. Inspecting wiring and terminations for quality and compliance.
6. Writing up recommendations for improvement.
7. Ensuring all test instruments have current calibration certificates and assisting in maintaining the test instrument register.
8. When not carrying out testing procedures, be available to carry out electrical installation work as required by the Project Manager or Site Supervisor.
9. Installation works shall include all aspects of low and extra-low voltage systems and include, but are not limited to, containment, cabling and wiring, final fixing, glanding and terminating.
What you need to succeed
10. A minimum of two years' experience in a similar position.
11. National Craft Certificate.
12. Qualified Certifier through a CRU accredited provider.
13. Current Safe Pass Certificate.
14. Current Manual Handling Certificate.
15. Current Abrasive Wheels Certificate (optional but preferred)
16. Thorough knowledge of the operation of company electrical test instruments.
17. Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
18. Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade.
19. Skill in the installation of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
20. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
21. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
22. Proficient in MS Packages, in particular MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
