Senior Project Manager Newbridge The Role: BnM is hiring a Senior Project Manager.
The Senior Project Manager will provide senior technical and project mangement expertise to the development of key renewable and flexible technology projects in our development pipeline which will include battery energy storage systems, low carbon inertia solutions, offshore wind, hydrogen/e-fuels and other emerging technologies which address system needs or the needs of our customers.
The role will provide technical and commercial support in the application of these technologies in our Energy Park developments.
The role will focus on the commercial development phase of the projects, fostering partnerships, early development activity, securing a route to market and driving the projects to financial close.
The successful candidate will oversee the development strategy and contract negotiation for the projects, manage joint venture activities and relationships, ensure governance and reporting requirements are achieved, and help deliver on the organisations strategy.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following: Lead the project development activities in our flexible technology and renewable pipeline, including technology assessment, site selection, procurement of planning and other specialist consultants, participation in public information and consultation processes and other development activities.
Ensure robust project financial models are prepared, supported by specialist technical and commercial inputs so that these can be audited to the level of scrutiny required by external investors.
Engage with and manage the interface with investor's technical and commercial due diligence advisers to provide all required data.
Provide support for technical and commercial issues arising in our Energy Park developments.
Appraise the technical and commercial opportunities for new or existing flexible technologies to play a role in our Energy Park developments.
Have an understanding of current and future electricity market arrangements and identify the opportunities different market approaches may present.
Keep up-to-date with relevant regulatory and technical policy publications.
Execute project management plans to ensure all deliverables are achieved on time and within the scopes and budgets.
Develop project delivery strategies appropriate to the projects and joint venture partners needs to best ensure successful project outcomes.
Develop and implement detailed project management plans for each project phase to ensure projects are run in accordance with best practice in project management and governance.
Analyse and appraise overall project risk profiles and provide regular updates so that management is provided with accurate information for decision making.
Liaise and co-ordinate key stakeholders within BnM and across external service providers, to deliver all required planning, licencing and permit approvals.
Ensure preliminary and any detailed design work, required for approvals process, complies with applicable design standards, health and safety regulations, environmental policies and all other applicable polices and statutory requirements Manage the procurement of all goods and services required by the project in accordance with company policy and Irish and EU legislative requirements.
Actively engage with key suppliers to negotiate project contracts on favourable commerical terms which are in line with marketplace norms.
Administer key project contracts and oversee the delivery of goods and services in accordance the contract terms and technical specifications set.

What we're looking for: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes: Honours Degree in Engineering (NFQ 8), recognised Project Management qualification an advantage 7-10 years at Project Manager or equivalent level Strong technical and commercial knowledge of the electricity grid and market and how flexible technologies operate and povide a service to the grid Knowledge and experience in the development of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Knowledge and experience in the development of Synchronous Condensers or thermal assets such as open-cycle or combined cycle gas turbines Knowledge of Contestable works and substations is an advantage for this role.
Excellent project management skills are essential for this role.
Excellent contract negotiation skills are essential for this role.
Excellent report writing and communications skills are essential for this role.
Engineers Ireland or equivalent professional subscription.
Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point and MS Project.
