Boulder Media is on the lookout for an Animation Development Producer who has solid experience developing original series and getting them ready for commission.
This is a specified-purpose role with a mix of remote and in-studio work.
We are hoping to find someone who can start right away.
We are open to part-time for the right person, with the possibility of it growing into a full-time role down the line.

About the role
The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience across both kids' and adult animation, combining creative flair with strategic and commercial insight.
You will lead projects from concept through development, shaping ideas, securing development funding, identifying co-production and distribution opportunities, and positioning each property for success in the marketplace.
Working closely with writers, creators, and studio leadership, you will ensure every project is creatively distinctive, strategically aligned, and commercially sustainable.
Key responsibilities
Development Leadership
Identifyand nurture new IPs across kids, family, and adult animation.
Guide creative development from concept through pitch materials, scripts, and visual development.
Oversee creation of pitch decks, sizzles, and bibles with creative and production teams.
Shape projects to align with broadcaster, streamer, and market needs.
Funding and Commissioning
Lead efforts to secure development and production funding from broadcasters, streamers, funding bodies, and partners.
Leverage industry relationships to position projects for success at pitching and marketplace events.
Build andmaintainrelationships with commissioners, distributors, and funding agencies.
Commercial and Strategic Insight
Identifyand develop co-production opportunities and partnerships (international, regional, or cross-platform).
Stay informed on digital content trends, audience insights, and emerging monetisation models (YouTube, FAST, AVOD, social storytelling, etc.).
Studio and Creator Collaboration
Partner with creators to shape projects with both creative integrity and commercial appeal.
Provide clear and constructive feedback to writers, designers, and directors during development.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously with efficiency and attention to detail.
Any other duties company management may from time to time deem necessary and reasonably require.
What would we look for?
Skills and Experience
10+ years' experience in animation development or production, ideally across both kids and adult audiences.
Proven success in having projects commissioned by major networks, streamers, or funding bodies.
Demonstrated understanding of the global animation landscape, including co-productions, funding models, and distribution strategies.
Strong creative instincts with a sharp sense of story, tone, and audience engagement.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in building and delivering compelling pitches.
Solid industry relationships across broadcasters, distributors, and creative talent.
Commercially minded, organised, and proactive, able to bridge creative and business thinking.
Advantageous Experience
Experience with IP exploitation, licensing, or transmedia strategy.
Understanding of digital-first content ecosystems and monetisation (e.g. YouTube, TikTok, Web3, or game crossovers).
Familiarity with international markets and funding programmes (e.g. Creative Europe, Screen Ireland).
