Overview
University of Galway invites applications for 16 Doctoral Candidate positions in the EDICT (Advancing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Clinical Trials) Network. The network is funded by Horizon Europe – MSCA Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Actions (Marie Curie Grant Agreement No. 101226601) and involves seven European institutions.
Positions & Scope
Positions are research‑focused and temporary, with full‑time working hours. Projects cover four interconnected work packages: Measurement, Methodologies, Implementation, and Systemic Change. Candidates will be allocated to one of 12 distinct project themes (see Project Overview).
Responsibilities (generic across projects)
Design, conduct, and analyse research studies in line with the assigned work package.
Develop and validate metrics, tools, and guidelines to promote equity, diversity and inclusion in clinical trials.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and industry partners.
Publish results in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.
Maintain detailed documentation and proper data management in accordance with GDPR.
Engage with stakeholders (trialists, regulators, patients, and public partners) to co‑design tools and training modules.
Qualifications
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (health sciences, public health, epidemiology, statistics, bioinformatics, etc.).
Strong academic record (minimum 2.1 honours or equivalent).
Experience with quantitative, qualitative or mixed‑methods research.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., R, Python, statistical or qualitative software).
Good written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language skills are an advantage.

Salary & Mobility
Gross monthly salary varies by host country (range €3,212–€6,568). Net salary is subject to national tax and social‑security contributions. Mobility and family allowances are provided in line with EU rules for Marie Skłodowska Curie Doctoral Networks 2024.
