Job Description
Rhe award-winning MICHELIN Guide restaurant Adrift at Dunmore House is looking to expand our kitchen team for 2025. Adrift featured in Ireland's top 101 restaurants 2025 and winner of Food and Wine Magazine's best Hotel restaurant. We focus on local produce for menus in Adrift, using our on-site coastal garden, while working with renowned West Cork suppliers. We are looking for a Sous Chef with fine dining experience to join our team.
* Duties to include - collaborate with the head chef and other kitchen staff in developing new menu items, contributing creative ideas in fine dining cuisine
* Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation of dishes
* Oversee the preparation of all dishes
* Assist in maintaining kitchen inventory and order supplies
* Work with the head chef to develop and maintain food cost and waste controls
* Ensure that all food safety and sanitation standards are met
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
* 2+ years of experience in a sous chef or similar role in fine dining restaurants
* Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment
* Ability to work well under pressure
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
* Creativity in food presentation and passion for creating delightful dishes
* Applicant must have a good command of the English language
* Applicants must be legally entitled to work within Ireland and the EU
* Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and holidays
* On-site staff accommodation available
