Overview
Our client, a leading multinational engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced
Project Engineer
to support
highway, tunnel, and motorway infrastructure operations and maintenance projects
.
The role involves providing
technical, contractual, and project management support
to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of infrastructure services. You will work as part of a
small core team
, coordinating with internal specialists, external contractors, and client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Support day-to-day
contract management
and performance monitoring activities
* Assist with
audits and compliance checks
on tunnel systems, motorway traffic control centres, and associated facilities
* Coordinate
contract variations, task orders, and lifecycle upgrade works
* Support administration of
PPP and NEC3 contracts
, including: Progress tracking, Early warnings, Compensation events, Interim valuations
* Monitor contractor compliance and
identify risks and issues early
* Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs from internal teams and external specialists
* Attend and contribute to
risk reduction and progress meetings
* Carry out
site inspections
to ensure operational and contractual compliance
* Prepare
reports, correspondence, and client updates
Requirements
* Level 8 Engineering qualification (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical)
* Minimum
5 years' post-graduate experience
on infrastructure projects
* Experience in
contract administration or project coordination
roles
* Strong
written and verbal communication
skills
* Ability to work
independently with minimal supervision
* Full
driving license
Desirable Experience
* Experience in
highways, tunnels, or infrastructure O&M
environments
* Knowledge of
national, regional, and local highway standards

DMRB
* Familiarity with
NEC3 and/or PPP contracts
* Exposure to
mechanical or electrical systems
within infrastructure facilities
* Experience working in
multidisciplinary project teams
