Manager Manufacturing Engineering & Support - MT member, reporting to Site Director
As a Manager Manufacturing Engineering, you will have overall responsibility for the engineering and support organization at the site, including manufacturing engineering, facilities engineering, project management, and support office to install, qualify, and validate new processes and equipment. You will drive successful change management outcomes, meet new product introduction schedules, and enhance productivity and quality. Your teams will identify, manage, and execute projects within the site that deliver year-over-year improvements.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
Responsible for support functions within Abbott Vascular Netherlands BV (AVN): Manufacturing Engineering, Support & Training, Facilities, and EHS.
Responsible for process and equipment installation, qualification, and validation per required standards.
Ensure adherence to and keep AVN compliant with standards such as the medical device directive and medical device warehousing (ISO13485, GDP), including facilities and environmental, health, and safety standards.
Ensure financial/CIP goals are met through continuous improvement activities.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Lead, manage, and facilitate projects supporting company objectives.
* Participate as a key business partner in the leadership team, contributing to strategy development and operational plans.
* Provide leadership and direction for all manufacturing engineering, support & training, facilities, and EHS activities and teams.
* Promote an inclusive and collaborative culture, utilizing AVN About You principles.
* Align decisions with the organization’s vision and values.
* Build strategic partnerships to meet departmental and organizational goals.
* Develop and monitor the department’s budget, adjusting as necessary.
* Act as process owner for support, training, and engineering workflows.
* Mentor and train stakeholders in project management methodologies and tools.
* Facilitate site strategic planning and performance reviews.
* Manage and develop direct reports through coaching, performance evaluations, and talent development.
* Represent AVN within the division and with other sites/functions regarding manufacturing engineering and EHS.
EDUCATION & BACKGROUND
* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or equivalent work experience. Certifications in Lean/Six Sigma, DMAIC, PRINCE2, or similar are preferred.
* 2-5 years of success in project management applying PM tools/methodologies.
* 2-5 years’ experience in manufacturing operations, business improvement, quality systems, or related fields in an international setting.
* Strong communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
* Experience with medical device industry and ERP systems preferred.
* Excellent command of English (verbal and written).
* Willingness to travel internationally.
