About This Role
We are seeking an organised and proactive individual to join our team as a Temporary Engineering Stores Operative. This role involves regular movement between the stores and production areas to check and maintain stock.
The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring that engineering parts, PPE, and maintenance materials are available when needed – helping to keep operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage stock levels and perform regular stock counts.
* Order components, consumables, and PPE as required.
* Expedite deliveries and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely receipt of goods.
* Book in deliveries, receive materials, and maintain accurate stock records.
* Create and update stock codes and maintain data integrity within the system.
* Work closely with the Engineering and Operations teams to understand requirements.
* Uphold 5S standards within the stores area.
* Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives across the site.
About You
We are looking for someone who is methodical, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in stock control, stores, or supply chain administration. They will also have strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Office, and experience using SAP or a similar ERP system is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will be confident using digital tools, have good communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work with internal teams and external suppliers. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn, customer-focused mindset, attention to detail, flexible approach to change, commitment to safety and quality, and a collaborative team player who demonstrates integrity and accountability are all essential qualities for this role.
