About the Position
This contract position is ideal for an experienced CAD Technician who can support engineering and production teams by creating and maintaining accurate technical drawings and models. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are compliant, practical, and aligned with project specifications. The role suits someone detail-oriented who thrives in structured technical environments.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software
Revise and update existing drawings based on engineering changes
Ensure all drawings comply with industry, regulatory, and internal standards
Support design reviews and provide technical drawing input
Maintain drawing registers, version control, and document accuracy
Liaise with engineering and production teams to resolve design queries
Assist with design documentation packages for manufacturing and installation
Experience/Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience in a CAD Technician or similar technical drafting role
Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar)
Strong understanding of technical drawings, tolerances, and dimensioning standards
Experience working in engineering, manufacturing, construction, or regulated environments
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple drawing revisions and deadlines simultaneously
Relevant technical qualification or diploma in engineering, design, or drafting preferred
