You will be supported by an established mechanical and electrical design team and will gain exposure to mechanical design, coordination, site activity and commissioning, helping you understand how projects move from concept through to operation.Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer ApprenticeLocation: Dundalk, Co. LouthHours: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-3pmSalary: Competitive, depending on experienceResponsible to: Building Services ManagerWhat You’ll Be DoingPrepare comprehensive mechanical design proposals, including detailed installation drawings, plant selection and technical schedulesPerform heating and hot water load calculations to ensure accurate system sizingDevelop project‑specific BMS control panel designs and operation descriptionsConduct site surveys of existing and new property services to identify suitable heating solutions and produce reports based on findingsAttend design meetings and collaborate closely with contracts managers and commissioning teams to support system commissioning and optimise BMS performanceWork within an established design team using advanced AutoCAD and MEP 3D design software
