Relief Social Care Worker - Co. Carlow
Location: Moneybeg, Co. Carlow
Odyssey Social Care are seeking energetic Relief Social Care Workers to join our residential care team based in Co. Carlow. In your role you will act as the support and care worker to young people in the house, working towards achieving better outcomes for young people every day.
Responsibilities
* Act as the support and care worker to young people referred to the house.
* Contribute to an assessment of needs, thereafter implementing aspects of Placement, Behaviour Support (BSP), and Individual Crisis Management (ICMP) Plans to meet assessed needs.
* Use the Odyssey Model of Care to teach new skills to young people and manage challenging behaviour.
* Connect the young person with local resources, network with local providers, and liaise closely with parents/carers and referral agencies.
* Work on evening, weekend and residential shift arrangements.
Salary
€225 for 15-hour shift - €367.50 for 24.5-hour shift

What You Bring
* Minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a relevant related qualification that meets the criteria to be registered as a Social Care Worker with CORU.
* Relevant qualifications include: Psychology (Level 8), Level 7 in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Counselling/Psychotherapy, Addiction Counselling, Youth and Community Work, Social Sciences/Social Studies, Family Support, Disability Studies, Applied Behavioural Analysis, Early Years Care (for U12 centres), BA Applied Policing, Higher Certificate in Custodial Care, Teaching, and Nursing.
* A full manual Irish driving licence
* An ability to work with young people

Required Criteria
* A minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a relevant and related field.
* A full, clean manual driving license valid in Ireland.
* Experience working with teenagers exhibiting challenging behavior.
