Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead our team in cost management and project delivery. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of various complex projects across multiple sectors.
Job Description:
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, with experience in cost planning, budgeting, and risk management. You will work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions that meet their requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Developing and maintaining detailed cost plans and budgets
* Leading value engineering and risk assessments to identify cost-saving opportunities
* Negotiating and recommending contract terms
* Overseeing interim valuations and final accounts
* Providing regular cost reports and forecasting to clients and stakeholders
You will also have the opportunity to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and mentoring junior team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A degree in quantity surveying or a related discipline
* Chartered status or progression towards SCSI / RICS membership
* At least 7 years' post-qualification experience, with some time spent in a cost consultancy, developer, or client-side role
* Proven ability to manage large-scale projects across various sectors
* Expertise in cost reporting, valuations, claims, and contract administration
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
