Job Title: Systems Administrator
We are seeking an experienced Windows Systems Administrator to support an enterprise-wide File Share Security and Migration initiative. This role involves managing and securing file systems across Windows Servers and NAS appliances, including NTFS, CIFS, and Unix/NTFS hybrid shares. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with file share administration, security remediation, and migration to modern technologies such as Azure File Services and OneDrive.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain file systems on Windows Servers and NAS devices, including NTFS, CIFS, and hybrid share structures.
Support and execute migration projects to newer file share technologies, including Azure File Services and OneDrive.
Conduct open‑share scanning and remediation to align with standard security models.
Run, maintain, and update existing PowerShell scripts to scan NAS environments for open or misconfigured shares.
Review scanning reports, maintain documentation of open shares, and coordinate with share owners to remediate security risks.
Participate in planning and execution of large‑scale file share migration projects.
Maintain administrative tools and utilities such as TreeSize and Security Explorer, ensuring proper updates and operational readiness.
Work across both cloud and on‑premise environments, leveraging Azure technologies such as Recovery Services Vault, Sync Services, and Storage Accounts.
Essential Skills
3–5+ years of experience in Windows Systems Administration.
Strong understanding of NTFS file‑level permissions, file share structures, and security controls.
Experience supporting file share security, migrations, or remediation projects.
Knowledge of Active Directory, including Global Groups and Domain Local Groups.
Ability to interpret and manage file‑level and share‑level permissions across heterogeneous storage platforms.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Azure file shares, Azure Sync, and hybrid cloud/on‑prem storage architectures.
Working knowledge of tools such as TreeSize or Security Explorer.
Intermediate PowerShell scripting skills (primarily updating or maintaining existing scripts).
Familiarity with enterprise migration planning and documentation best practices.
