Sous Chef – Production
Location: Wexford
Salary: €42,000 – €47,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, two shifts available (5:00am – 2:00pm or 2:00pm – 10:00pm)
Excel Recruitment are currently recruiting a Sous Chef – Production on behalf of our client, a leading food production business based in Wexford. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced chef to step into a senior role with an excellent work-life balance – no weekend shifts required.
The Role:
The successful candidate will support the Head Chef in overseeing the daily running of a busy production kitchen, ensuring consistent quality, smooth operations, and compliance with food safety standards while leading and motivating a skilled team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Head Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen production.
2. Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain consistency and efficiency.
3. Ensure HACCP and food safety standards are adhered to at all times.
4. Support with menu planning, prep schedules, and batch cooking.
5. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen environment.
Requirements:
6. Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous in a production or high-volume kitchen.
7. Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
8. Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety procedures.
9. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
10. Flexibility to work either early or late shift, Monday to Friday.
