Position: Supply Chain Procurement Manager – Neurovascular
Reporting to: Senior Manager CSS SCP
Location: Galway, Ireland
Contract: Full Time/Permanent (Fully Onsite Role)
Job Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Supply Chain Procurement for Neurovascular, the Procurement Manager will be a key leader in driving a fully integrated, best-in-class procurement program within Neurovascular. This leader is expected to provide hands-on leadership in multiple aspects of global sourcing, including new product development, cost reduction, innovative solutions, business finance, and supply chain material reliability. They will lead supplier selection for new products and coordinate programs to leverage J&J’s position in direct material categories. Additionally, this role will shape sourcing strategies for recently launched products to enhance supply reliability and improve gross profit. They will oversee governance addressing raw material reliability issues and lead long-term cost improvement projects, partnering with financial stakeholders to meet key metrics.
The responsibilities & the impact you will have:
1. Lead Neurovascular NPD group and stakeholders in supplier selection, evaluation, and qualification for materials including Electrical Components, Plastics, Metals, Chemicals, Packaging, External Manufacturing, and services.
2. Lead multiple complex supplier negotiations, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive favorable terms, then transition stabilized products, contracts, and suppliers to base business teams.
3. Manage the supplier award process, including negotiations and issuing award letters.
4. Support multiple NPD projects across global procurement categories and geographies.
5. Partner with R&D leadership to identify supplier needs and execute sourcing strategies aligned with the product roadmap.
6. Drive cost improvement initiatives to meet long-term GP targets and ensure financial resilience.
7. Collaborate with Finance to meet metrics like part price variance and market movement.
8. Optimize quality, supply reliability, innovation, and cost through early supplier engagement during development.
9. Work with multifunctional teams to resolve material reliability challenges and implement sustainable solutions.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 6 years in Procurement, Supply Chain, Quality, R&D, or Engineering, preferably in Medical Devices or related industry.
* Strong communication, influencing, negotiating, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to engage with suppliers and internal teams at leadership levels.
* Analytical skills in sourcing requirements.
* Proven collaboration and influence abilities.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Preferred certifications: APICS, ISM, Six Sigma.

Additional Requirements:
* Willingness to travel up to 30%, domestic and international.
