About Technical Operations
BioMarin’s Technical Operations group is responsible for creating our drugs for use in clinical trials and for scaling production of those drugs for the commercial market. These engineers, technicians, scientists and support staff build and maintain BioMarin’s cutting-edge manufacturing processes and sites, provide quality assurance and quality control to ensure we meet regulatory standards, and procure the needed goods and services to support manufacturing and coordinating the worldwide movement of our drugs to patients.
Buyer/Purchasing Administrator – 12 Month Contract

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop & execute the Materials Requirement Plan (MRP) for optimal procurement and inventory control.
* Convert Master Schedule output into accurate material requirements for production needs.
* Raise purchase orders (Ariba/SAP) based on internal customer demand.
* Maintain raw material and consumable inventories within targets, minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
* Process packaging change requests via TrackWise.
* Resolve invoice and receiving issues through cross-functional collaboration.
* Interface with Quality & Warehouse staff regarding rejected/defective materials, ensuring prompt resolution.
* Communicate supplier delivery schedules effectively to meet production needs.
* Track and report supplier performance metrics including On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) adherence.
* Lead supplier engagement & selection in collaboration with Tops Global Procurement (TGP).
* Manage supplier forecasting, ensuring inventory alignment with production schedules.
* Partner with TGP to drive supplier performance improvement in quality and delivery.
* Analyse potential deviations to procurement plans and escalate issues when necessary.
* Support operational readiness and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives.
* Ensure compliance through Change Control, Deviations, CAPAs and other regulatory processes.
Skills & Experience
* Highly organized, adaptable team player with strong decision-making skills.
* Experience in SAP/ERP systems.
* Advanced Excel & Power BI capabilities desirable.
* Strategic thinker with tactical execution expertise.
* Demonstrated ability to engage with vendors in an ethical and compliant manner.
* Strong initiative, energy & motivation in problem-solving.
Education & Qualifications
* Honours Degree (NFQ Level 8) in Supply Chain Management or related business discipline.
* Supply Chain Certification (APICS preferred) and Lean/Project Management Certification desirable.
* Minimum 3 years relevant experience in Planning/Purchasing—pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
