Job Purpose:
The qualified accountant will provide support in all areas of financial reporting, compliance, and management accounting. This role involves preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with Irish accounting standards, assisting in budgeting, and performing financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with FRS 102 (Financial Reporting Standard in Ireland).
* Management Accounting: Assist in the preparation of management accounts, including variance analysis and financial forecasting.
* Taxation: Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns (VAT, PAYE, corporation tax,) in compliance with Irish tax legislation.
* Audit: Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process, ensuring all necessary information is provided.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all statutory financial regulations, including the Companies Act 2014 and any other relevant Irish financial regulations.
* Internal Controls: Monitor and enhance internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and analysis of annual budgets and forecasts.
* Payroll: Assisting with Payroll process on a monthly basis.
* Ad hoc tasks: Provide financial advice and support to management teams and assist with various financial projects as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Professional Qualification: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
* Experience:
* At least 1-2 years of post-qualification experience in a similar accounting role.
* Experience working in a financial accounting or management accounting environment.
* Experience with financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit processes.
* Strong understanding of Irish tax laws and accounting standards.
* Skills:
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, financial modelling, etc.).
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
