Ecologist Role
The Ecologist role is a key position that requires providing ecological and biodiversity support to various projects, including renewable energy and peatland rehabilitation.
This role involves working closely with the Ecology Manager and collaborating with other teams to deliver environmental impact assessments and reports.
* Provide ecological support to planning teams on renewable energy projects.
* Conduct baseline ecological surveys of cutaway bogs and contribute to ecology baseline datasets.
* Develop and update site-specific plans for environmental rehabilitation.
* Liaise with project consultants and stakeholders, including review of reports and data management.
* Support delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports and Appropriate Assessments/Natura Impact Statements.
* Deliver requirements for environmental assessments, including stakeholder consultation and management.
* Support statutory and legal reporting obligations.
Requirements
* Level 8+ qualification in ecology or related scientific subjects.
* Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
* Experience in digital capturing of data using GPS tablets and processing/manipulation of survey data.
* Proficient in ecological surveying, habitat and species identification, specific species surveys.
* Full clean driving licence required.
