**Assistance Dog Trainer Position**
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated assistance dog trainer to provide specialist training of Assistance Dogs and training for children with autism and their families.
About the Role
This is a full-time position that requires a minimum of 35 hours per week. The successful candidate will be based at our National Headquarters and Training Centre in Cork, Ireland.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering key outputs and consistently meeting and exceeding goals. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, and a solution-focused approach. Additionally, they should be competent in Microsoft Office, have great attention to detail, and hold an animal care qualification or equivalent.
Key Responsibilities
* CARRY OUT REQUIRED PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENTS
* PREPARE SELECTED DOGS ACCORDING TO THE PRE-DETERMINED PROGRAMME
* WORK WITH THE TECHNICAL LEAD IN PLANNING AND COMPLETING ALL POST-CLASS, FOLLOW UP AND AFTERCARE VISITS
* IDENTIFY TEMPERAMENTAL AND BEHAVIOURAL ISSUES AND ENSURE THE APPLICATION OF APPROPRIATE SOLUTIONS
Requirements
* PROVEN QUALIFICATION IN ASSISTANCE DOG TRAINING FROM AN ACCREDITED BODY
* PROVEN TRACK RECORD FOR CONSISTENTLY MEETING AND EXCEEDING GOALS AND DELIVERING A SUPERIOR LEVEL OF JOB PERFORMANCE
* VERY STRONG INTERPERSONAL SKILLS WITH THE ABILITY TO BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH ALL STAKEHOLDERS
