Unijobs on behalf of the University of Limerick are seeking a proactive, solutions driven and organised Administrator to support the SSPC team within in the Bernal Institute at University of Limerick. The position is temporary, full time, working 35hours per week, on campus. The rate of pay is starting at €18.59 per hour. The contract is initially anticipated to be until the end of June 2026 and will be reviewed closer to the time. SSPC, the Science Foundation Ireland Research Centre for Pharmaceuticals, is a hub of Irish research expertise developing innovative technologies to address key challenges facing the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry. This job will involve the provision of support to the COO, Scientific Director, investigators, and support team in the administrative duties of the Centre. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working in both industrial and academic environments, have led event organisation activities plus possess communication skills to deal with a wide range of stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: * Act as an internal point of contact for the centre and centre events. * Provide administration support for centre activities e.g. room booking, calendar booking, attendance polls, communications, travel bookings, invoicing and reporting. * Organise centre meetings locally and nationally, take notes and prepare minutes. * Administer events such as centre symposia, conferences, seminars, requiring a high degree of personal initiative and responsibility. * Support the organisation of internal and external activities/events, collating and recording defined information documentation as requested, to ensure activities are administered efficiently. * Organise and coordinate travel and business development activities for the Centre Director, COO, and other operations team members as required. * Maintain financial, centre, meeting and review data to contribute to resource planning. * Gather data, prepare reports and other materials, using standard tools, standard formats and software. * Manage own work from start to finish. * Attend centre events and activities as necessary. * Produce management information from data and/or statistics in order that accurate and reliable information is available for unit/departmental decision making. * Develop and maintain spreadsheets and simple databases. * Liaison with other universities, funding agencies and industrial partners in development of collaborative research projects. * Liaison with other SSPC Operations team members within the Centre. * Liaison with host institute (UL) functional areas of Research Office, Finance, Human Resources, Faculties and Departments. * Participate in meetings and committees as deemed necessary by the COO. * Other duties as requested by the COO. Essential Skills: * Proficient with Microsoft 365. * Excellent organisational skills. * Ability to work independently and on initiative. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. * A minimum of 3 years' experience in an administrative role. * Leaving Certificate or equivalent. Desirable Skills: * Event management/coordination. * Agresso/purchasing software packages. * Familiarity with Eventbrite/Doodle Poll/Survey Monkey or equivalent tools. * Technical/professional qualification at third level Additional Requirements: * Role may require infrequent national travel to quarterly SSPC meetings.
