Overview
We are partnering with a manufacturing client in Galway who are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead their Operations Engineering team in Galway. This role combines leadership, technical expertise and continuous improvement to drive operational excellence, support new product introductions and optimize manufacturing processes. It is a permanent role and can be worked on a 4 or 5 day basis depending on the individual.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technicians.
Drive continuous improvement, productivity, and cost reduction initiatives.
Manage New Product Introductions (NPI) and technology transfers.
Ensure high uptime and efficiency of SMT, test, and process equipment.
Oversee facility management and capital expenditure projects.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain.
Requirements
10+ years’ experience in industrial/manufacturing engineering, including 3+ years in management.
Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills.
Proven track record in Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement.
Project management experience, including NPI and process optimization.
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Experience with SMT programming, SAP, MES or advanced manufacturing technologies is an advantage.
