About the Role
We are recruiting a Senior Project Management Engineer to deliver client-side services in the Water Sector in Ireland. The successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of major projects with a focus on scope, budget, schedule, and risk as part of a major capital investment programme. The Senior Project Management Engineer will assist the Lead Project Management Engineer, taking responsibility for managing the project from planning and design through to successful completion and commissioning. You will be responsible for delivering the project on time, to budget, and to specification, ensuring project goals and objectives align with the Employer’s requirements and the corporate portfolio strategy.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
* Oversee and monitor project delivery around the schedule, interface, cost, variations, contract, and risk, liaising with the relevant team members and functions as required.
* Develop the Project Execution Plan, ensuring alignment with the Contracting Entity’s standards and methods.
* Coordinate and manage design consultants and other external service providers with technical teams.
* Stakeholder consultation.
* Report monthly on project tasks throughout the lifecycle, including construction activities during the construction phase.
* Maintain the overall project risk register and update at monthly progress meetings.
* Identify opportunities to improve Project Management procedures, templates, and products; refer ideas to the appropriate line manager.
* Develop cost estimates.
* Conduct detailed review of Contractor’s design and deliverables.
* Contract management.
Key Requirements
* Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in the Construction / Infrastructure sector on projects of similar size and complexity.
* Relevant third-level qualification in engineering or a related discipline.
* Project management qualification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is advantageous.
* Good knowledge and experience of Health & Safety legislation and regulations.
* Strong knowledge and experience of project management methodologies.
* Strong water engineering technical capability.
* Experience in contract administration and delivery.
* Ability to set up ongoing procedures to collect and review information as needed.
* On-site experience is an advantage.
* Track record of delivering construction/asset delivery projects on time and within budget.
* Knowledge of operating as a client’s project manager.
* Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels to influence process improvements and guidance for project delivery.
* Self-motivation, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Planning capability; Oracle Primavera 6 scheduling system is an advantage.
* Report writing skills; computer literacy.
