About the roleReporting directly to theChief Executive, the DPO will: Act as theregistered Data Protection Officer with the Data Protection Commission Advise on GDPR compliance across donors, patients, staff & research Shape privacy-by-design innew initiatives & transformation projects Strengthen and mature IBTS's data protection framework Collaborate nationally & internationally (including theEuropean Blood Alliance DPO Group)This is asenior, influential rolecentral to protecting trust in a critical public service. Essential criteria: Relevant degree (IT / Information Security / Legal) Professional certification (e.g.CIPP/E, CIPM or equivalent)5+ years' experienceas a DPO / Data Protection Manager Expert knowledge ofGDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, Health Research Regulations, EU AI Act Strong communication, influencing & reporting skills Healthcare, public sector or regulated environment experience is desirable.
