Maintenance Fitter / Mechanical Fitter – Cork
Monday-Friday hours – Permanent role.
Role Summary
As a Maintenance Fitter you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of production machinery and equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct routine maintenance and repair tasks on various beef processing equipment, including conveyors, motors/gearboxes, and packaging machinery.
Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot faults, and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime.
Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules, ensuring equipment longevity and optimal performance.
Replace and repair defective components, such as motors, bearings, belts, and hydraulic systems.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality control standards, and company policies.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum 2 years post-apprenticeship experience as a Time-served Mechanical, Automation & Maintenance Fitter (MAMF) or a similar mechanic.
Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics.
Experience with machines, process equipment, controls & automation.
Experience in electrical & mechanical installations, maintenance and refrigeration systems.
Good communication skills, both written and oral.
Strong troubleshooting ability and logical problem-solving skills.
Holds a full driving licence.
Can work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and on-call.
Level 6 trade certificate or other.
