Job Description:
Three Steps is a social care based, trauma and attachment informed, clinically supported residential care service provider.
We have a number of Children's Residential Centres for children and young people in care. We also provide residential services to children, young people, and adults with disability.All our services are currently located in Meath.
Our care teams and managers work closely with placement supervisors to provide safe, compassionate, and professionally informed care.Together, we work hard to improve the quality of care we provide every day.We put the children, young people and adults in our care first in everything we do, and as a company, we invest heavily in our care teams to ensure they have the skills, support and encouragement they need to achieve our shared aims.
In all our activities, we work closely with Tusla (the Child and Family Agency), with the HSE (Health Service Executive), and with the Northern Ireland Trust.
We are seeking a qualified New Directions Support Worker to join our team, based in one of our adult disability centres located near Dunboyne in Co. Meath. The New Directions Support Worker will assist the adults placed in our centres to:
* Engage in and be part of their community.
* Participate as equal and full citizens in all aspects of social living.
* Make maximum use of available services, in accordance with the person's wishes, aspirations and needs.
Working hours are based on a standard 5-day week (day shifts only, typically Monday to Friday), with some flexibility within the daily working times required.
To apply, you will need:
* A Level 7 degree in a related and relevant fieldor
* A Level 5 or Level 6 qualification or higher in the area of Healthcare, Healthcare Support, Social Care, Disability Studies, or another related and relevant field *
(* Qualifications considered as related and relevant are Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, Teaching, Nursing, Special Needs Assistant, Disability Studies, Addiction Studies (not exhaustive). Social Work qualifications from Northern Ireland are also accepted.)
* The requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the role and
* Previous experience of providing care in a community or residential setting to adults with behaviours that challenge
You will also need:
* The ability to relate to and care for vulnerable children, young people and adults and to demonstrate a genuine respect for them, their parents and families
* The ability to research and creatively support adults to gain access to clubs, groups, societies, and employment to enhance their life and make meaningful connections within the community
