As part of the Discipline Engineering team, the Discipline Junior Engineer applies their developing technical skills to support the execution of engineering projects. They work under the guidance of more senior engineers, focusing on applying established design processes and contributing to the efficient delivery of high‑quality solutions that align with the Group's Discipline practices and strategic objectives. This particular position is to work in the Computer Vision Department, specifically as a Deep Learning Research Engineer.
Position Overview
As a deep learning engineer, you will be responsible for the development of deep learning solutions enabling the next generation Automated Driving Platforms. Deep learning will be applied to classify all objects, road markings and surfaces in the vehicle environment. You will be responsible for the development of state‑of‑the‑art DL algorithms providing unprecedented scene understanding. You will be expected to remain abreast of technological developments in the rapidly expanding field of deep learning and its application in automotive.
Responsibilities

Deep Learning network development and training
Select appropriate datasets and data representation methods
Work with data engineers and analysts to ensure optimal data acquisition, data integrity and data pipelines
Perform statistical analysis and fine‑tuning using test results
Develop and maintain a relationship with university counterparts

Required Technical Attributes

Degree in any relevant discipline, with a focus on deep/machine learning
Understanding of fundamental computer vision algorithms and approaches, with a focus on machine learning

Desired Technical Attributes

Understanding of data structures, data modeling and software architecture
Proficiency with Python, machine learning frameworks (Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (like scikit‑learn)
Proficiency with OpenCV
Familiarity with Linux
Experience developing software for embedded platforms
Experience with version control software
Experience with imaging or optics systems

Your Profile

Be an EU citizen
Be fluent in English
Be graduated – or about to be – from a master (or Bachelor) Degree from a Technical university – max. up to 2 years after graduation
Have a short experience abroad – working or study
Have a previous experience during / after studies relevant to this position
Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate complex technical issues in English to different audiences in both written and verbal forms, e.g. reports, specifications, presentations
Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
Outstanding analytical and problem‑solving skills
High level of innovation and motivation
Ability to take input from others
Eager to progress within a diverse and multicultural environment
Capable of autonomous decision making
