Chemical / Bioprocess Engineer
The Chemical/Bioprocess Engineer will provide technical expertise in centrifugation and depth filtration unit operations within biopharmaceutical downstream processing. The role involves process optimization, scale-up, and troubleshooting to support manufacturing consistency and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Lead process characterization and optimization of centrifugation and depth filtration steps for biologics purification.
Evaluate equipment performance and develop scale-down models to support process understanding.
Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure smooth technology transfer and process validation.
Analyze process data and implement improvements to enhance yield, throughput, and process robustness.
Support investigations and root cause analyses for deviations related to filtration and clarification operations.
Author and review technical documentation including protocols, reports, and process descriptions.
Collaborate with equipment vendors and internal teams for process upgrades and innovation initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or related discipline.
3–7 years of experience in downstream bioprocess engineering, with a focus on centrifugation and depth filtration.
In-depth knowledge of fluid dynamics, filter media selection, and separation principles.
Familiarity with GMP manufacturing and process validation requirements.
Strong analytical, technical writing, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
