About the Role
Our client is an established and growing manufacturing business based in Shannon, supporting customers across a range of technical sectors including electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, box build assembly and medical device manufacturing.
They are now seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.
This is a fully onsite role, 5 days per week in Shannon, suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy, fast‑paced environment and is comfortable supporting a broad range of finance and administration tasks.
The successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager and will play an important role in the day‑to‑day running of the accounts function, supporting areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, supplier/customer queries and general finance administration.
Key Responsibilities
Process supplier invoices, match purchase orders and resolve any invoice queries.
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable duties.
Prepare and issue customer invoices as required.
Support credit control activity, including follow‑up on outstanding payments.
Reconcile supplier statements and assist with bank reconciliations.
Maintain accurate financial records and update internal systems.
Assist with month‑end preparation and finance reporting.
Liaise with suppliers, customers and internal departments in a professional manner.
Support the finance team with general administration and ad hoc finance tasks.
Ensure all documentation is filed accurately and in line with company procedures.
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience in an accounts assistant, finance administration or bookkeeping role.
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Experience using accounting or ERP systems would be an advantage.
Ability to work well in a busy office/manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Comfortable managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
A proactive, flexible and hands‑on approach to work.
Relevant accounting technician, bookkeeping or finance qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.
