RPS has a great opportunity for aHealth & Safety Officerto join our team based in Dublin.About The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to support and deliver existing and new high-profile projects. You will be central to the project team, assisting in the delivery of projects for key public and private sector clients in Ireland and further afield. You will be part of the Health & Safety team within RPS responsible for the maintenance and development of the Health & Safety Management Systems of the company.DutiesFulfilling the duties of the PSDP and acting as Health & Safety Coordinator for the Design Process as outlined in the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013Project management of PSDP projects including Client management, coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and scope.Provision of guidance on legislative compliance and industry best practice.Provision of relevant technical support and leadership to clients and designers.Production of project related Health & Safety documentation and reports including Preliminary Safety and Health Plans and Safety Files.Management of occupational health and safety requirements of a large engineering consultancy firm.RequirementsExpert knowledge of construction Health & Safety Regulations and associated practices & procedures.Ability to act as a competent PSDP within the meaning of the Safety, Health & Welfare Act 2005 and Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013Have at least 8 years of experience in building or civil engineering infrastructure works including safety management as well as the management of the role of Project Supervisor Design Process and/or Project Supervisor Construction Stage (or similar).Experience of working with OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 or similar safety systemExperience in the preparation and review of Risk Assessments, Design Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work and Safety & Health plans.Excellent IT skills, familiar with relevant computer applications (MS Word and MS Excel in particular).Good communication and interpersonal skills.QualificationsDiploma/Degree or equivalent in Health & Safety (ideally in Construction Health & Safety)DesirableDegree Engineering or related design discipline with recognised Health & Safety training i.e., Diploma/Degree or equivalent in Health & Safety (ideally in Construction Health & Safety)Chartered Member of Engineers Ireland, IOSH or similar OR working towards chartered member status of a professional body such as Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), Engineers Ireland or Institute of Civil EngineersWhat We Offer YouOur employees are rewarded with competitive salaries, opportunities to invest and many other benefits including: 23 days holiday increasing with service + bank holidays, Company pension scheme, Disability Scheme, Cycle to Work Scheme, Health Screening, Employee Assistance Programme, Professional Memberships and Sponsored Education.We understand the need to work flexibly, with agile offices and hybrid working offered as standard, we're happy to talk about flexible working.
