Class 1 Driver – Lisburn
Excel Recruitment are seeking an experienced Class 1 Driver to join our client, an industry leading supplier based in Lisburn. This role is initially temporary with an excellent opportunity of becoming permanent after successful completion of a probationary period.
As a Class 1 Driver you will work on weekly rotating shifts with an attractive monthly bonus on top of the base rate.
1. Week 1 5.30am – 11.30am Mon-Sat
2. Week 2 5.30am – 11.30am Tues – Sat
Responsibilities of a Class 1 Driver
3. Safely operate a Class 1 vehicle in compliance with all traffic laws and company policies.
4. Perform multidrop deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.
5. Plan and follow efficient routes, especially within urban areas like Belfast City Centre.
6. Use and manage tachograph and digital cards correctly, ensuring legal driving hours are adhered to.
7. Inspect the vehicle before and after journeys to check for faults or maintenance issues.
8. Maintain clear communication with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery times.
9. Complete delivery documentation accurately.
10. Report any incidents, accidents, or delays.
11. Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring safe handling of goods.
12. Ensure all tasks are completed in line with customer expectations.
13. Adhere to safety guidelines and operational procedures at all times, maintaining a safe working environment.
Requirements
14. Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) driving license.
15. Up-to-date tachograph card and digital driver card.
16. Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role.
17. Strong knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations.
18. Availability to work across rotating shifts.
19. A positive attitude, with a focus on customer satisfaction and team collaboration.
20. Basic vehicle maintenance awareness.
